Sam McDowell

Sam McDowell's skill and dedication to the old Yankee Whaler's craft is legendary. He was introduced to scrimshaw in 1955 by then Senator John F. Kennedy. Today, he uses only fine surgical steel from Kai Cutlery in Japan, descendants of the traditional samurai sword artisans. Each knife is signed by Sam McDowell and comes with a handsome leather case. Endwork is triple plated nickel silver repousse. Sam has used highly polished camel bone ever since whale bone and ivory were banned internationally.
