Peter Müller
Peter Müller, like many young citizens of Switzerland, was destined for a career in banking. He attended all the right schools of economics. And in the process, he fell in love with faraway places and all their beauties. Moving to Brazil in 1979, Peter came in contact with the art of bird carvings from precious stones. Peter had been familiar with the famous bird carvings of Idar Oberstein in Germany and seeking their guidance and tutelage, he began practicing an art that held him in awe.
When he started his gemstone-carving business, Peter Müller’s humble vision was to combine the bounty of gemstones available in Brazil with fine quality workmanship to create affordable art. Today he markets his gemstone carvings around the world.
Peter Müller’s masterpieces are the life-like reproductions of the bird world of the tropics and Northern Hemisphere. His collection of bird carvings is like wandering through nature, always rich in unexpected beauty and surprising detail. No two are alike and each one has been created individually from precious stones from all over the world.
